CounterPart was designed from the ground up to work with SAP by seasoned, experienced SAP practitioners. Key features of the system include:
Multiple Forms of Payment
CounterPart supports all common forms of payment. Cash, credit, gift cards, coupons and on-account billing. In addition it is very easy to apply split-payments utilizing multiple payment methods on a single order.
Integrated Credit Card Processing
For credit card processing, CounterPart leverages SAP certified payment processing applications/services. Specifically we have web service integration with the SAP credit card certified middle-ware provider's Delego Software and Paymetric.
In either case the benefit of this approach is that the middleware providers have already certified communications with a large number of financial institutions. The middleware providers free the customer from being locked into a single financial institution. In addition the same communication vehicle used for SAP originated transactions is also leveraged by your stores.
Credit card authorizaton occurs at the time of the transaction. The authorization and settlement information is transmitted to SAP with the order. Credit card settlement occurs in SAP with journal postings occuring automatically as is standard with SAP credit card processing
Extended Bar Code Support
CounterPart supports SAP's mapping of bar-codes to multiple units-of-measure aligned with a single material automatically via the material master data interface. In addition, the store personnel may easily add additional bar-code relationships for a material.
Single Point of Entry Pricing
CounterPart has been designed to utilize native SAP pricing conditions. Pricing conditions utilized by SAP sales orders can also be leveraged directly by the CounterPart point of sale system. Price changes maintained in SAP are automatically interfaced to the store(s).
Customer Contact Management
Customer contacts aligned with a sold-to account in SAP can be issued 'bar-coded' key-fobs for easy and quick customer identification during order entry.
On-Account Customer Billing
Customer master records created/changed in SAP are automatically synchronized with the CounterPart system. Credit limits maintained in SAP are also interfaced to the register. CounterPart supports both dynamic and/or static SAP credit management configuration.
Cash Management
CounterPart supports one-to-one and one-to-many cash drawer to register-terminal alignment. All transactions related to a register cash drawer are tracked by time stamp, associate id, terminal id, accounting period, and type of payment. There is a detailed end-of-day settlement and reporting system.
Receipt Printing
CounterPart prints receipts on traditional point-of-sale receipt printers and on laser printer paper. Receipt output methods can be used interchangeably.
SAP Inventory Management
CounterPart allows for tight integration with SAP MRP and material forecasting tools. Each sales order generated in the register is discretely interfaced to SAP. In addition, deliveries, goods issues, billing documents, and payments are all posted as part of the standard interface. This approach allows a company to easily leverage standard functionality in SAP for inventory planning, replenishment, and reporting.
Interface Strategy
CounterPart utilizes SAP standard API's for communications. We have extended the solution to fully automate transaction processing. We include a functionally rich transaction console that allows one to quickly address issues which may arise during transaction processing.
